Something Lighthearted

2025/09/17

It’s good to be back, Jack.

It has been an unusually quiet summer. I was expecting to suffer great mental anguish but nope. Nothing. I’ve been feeling pretty good all things considered. Looks like I’ll have to find something else to talk about lol.

Something fun and lighthearted for a change…

I did (tried to do) a lot of grass touching but I didn’t really get much out of it. Just a lot of grass on my hands. I feel like I’m turning into grass. Just growing on the lawn doing nothing and having grass thoughts. Perhaps I took it too literally.

But what did I DO? Exercise, reading books and manga, some casual retro gaming, you know–the usual. A lot of spacing out. I mean it. Just hours of lying on the floor or sitting in an armchair and just looking around like a dumb animal. There’s definitely something borked in my head. Binged a handful of J-dramas. That was something new. Worked for a while on a new website but scrapped the whole thing. Started messing around with some server STUFF but lost interest quickly. Not much enthusiasm for tech but I can feel the winds start a-blowing again.

Is there a word for describing boredom without being bored? I guess detachment would fit.

There was a bit of excitement when the company that owns the apartment complex I live in went bankrupt and there was a period of radio silence from the law firm that handles their estate. It wasn’t clear whether the tenants would be kicked out or if the estate can figure out a way to continue leasing out the apartments. For now they’ve continued my lease by two months.

Despite my relative well-being and contentedness my social withdrawal tendencies have only grown stronger. Not sure what is the correlation here. I’ve barely spoken a word in four months and only go out for solitary walks/runs. I don’t really have much of an opinion on this but I guess it’s worth noting.

More news at 9PM.

P.S. I’ve applied a fresh coat of paint to the website so get your head out of your RSS reader and check it out!!
